Ray simply reenforce the round on two and four. This is pure Jazz the bop way. Manteca, played with congas since ever, so Ray is even more in topographic_point here. Ray simply reenforce the swing feel (emphasizing the 2nd and 4th beat_generation of the bar as I already told you) and does not destroy anything of this three's thaumaturgy.
